progress continues

So the design continues.  Many changes have already taken place before posting this.  It is a living, breathing design that will continue to evolve. The interesting part is the evolution can be slowly seen.  Who knows how many design  revisions were went through before the Eiffel tower was in the final design stage.

first structural layout attempt

As things progress with the library addition, here is the first structural layout attempt.  Included is possible virtical circulation locations. Simple 20' x 20' and 40' x 40' bays. Probably will change as things progress.

first roof of the year

This past Saturday morning had to be one of the coldest I have experienced.  I checked the weather forecast the day before and thought I came prepared.
  • Two pair of socks, which I would have wore three but my boots would not fit when I tired it out.
  • Jeans with thermal wear underneath
  • Two t-shirts with a sweater over them
  • and a beenie cap
With all that, I still felt every bit of the cold air blowing over the roof.  The sun peaked through the clouds a little later in the day so it warmed up slightly by a degree or two before the sun retreated back behind the clouds.

So this past Saturday, after a long break, I went to participate in the first roofing job we had for the year .  This a different task compared to sitting behind a laptop making changes to possibly this exact roof.  I can make those changes in a controlled environment and no need worrying about accidentally falling off my chair or praying for the sun to break through the clouds again.

I began helping Habitat for Humanity a little while ago.
